Infant Trapped After Car Crash

Comments Off

When firefighters arrived on the scene of a car accident near South Haven, they found a five-month-old baby girl trapped inside the vehicle.

The baby was suffocating and turning blue. Her car seat was crushed and her mouth was pressed up against the dashboard.

One firefighter worked to turn her head so she could get some air, while another took her from the car. The baby was in the front passenger seat. It was hard to tell which way the child was facing due to damage sustained to the car during the crash. The door was crushed in, said Assistant Chief of the Fire Department.

The baby is hospitalized and in good condition. The Mother crashed into a light pole and may face charges for violating child safety restraint laws.
